Subjects: 01AUGUST200812:58AM-31JANUARY20096:25PM is a chronological documentation of every subject line I received between August 1, 2009 and January 31, 2009. By adhering to strict pre-determined color categories with which I categorize the subject lines I received, I am able to generate an unpredictable pattern that, as it develops, becomes a tapestry-like weaving of information. In these works, I am primarily interested in exploring the intersection of public and private information, how my personal narrative overlaps with that of the viewer, and how these different narratives develop over the course of six months.

These works are also about failure and inability: my failure to perfectly replicate words and information, my inability to accurately predict the amount of information I am confronted by on a daily basis, and my inability to control the outcome of the patterns and narratives generated as a result of this exploration.
